Karmeliet is a Belgium beer dating back to 1996. Although it is brewed with barley, wheat and oats, it could be considered a six-grain beer in some circles as each of these three grains is used in their raw as well as malted form. Winning the Gold Medal at the World Beer Awards in 2008, the Karmeliet beer proved that it’s natural ingredients and brewing method makes it one of the best.
When poured correctly, this beer’s golden, bronze colour really does shine and its vanilla, orange-like aroma flirts with the nose. On the palate, it awakens the senses with its creaminess, citrus yet sweet malt flavour.
